Father's Work

Instead of spending time working on my home or planning activities for my children, I am home reading books, creating court documents and preparing financial statements to be able to have visitation with my children. In today's society where many of the roles of parenting are shared, why is it still so difficult for fathers to gain custody or longer visitation?
